Day 10: March 31, 2021 (4 miles)

Muskrat Creek Shelter - Franklin, NC

Another nero! The weather is supposed to be shit with rain and freezing temps so we made the smart decision to get off trail.

Thankfully Erika was able to arrange a shuttle with Bobby the Greek at noon, so we got up and kicked it with Butter and Road Soda until 10ish when we boogied down trail. It poured all night and everything was soaked this morning, so packing up was a real bitch.

The 4 miles to Deep Gap was mostly mild so we were able to leave the boys zeroing at the shelter around 10am and make it to the forest service road and meet Bobby. He gave us a tour around town before dropping us off at the Sapphire Inn where we had two rooms reserved.

We tried to spread out our shit to dry before going to the diner for lunch and Outdoor 76 Outfitter.

The food was so yummy and we walked over to the Lazy Hiker for drinks.

Burn, Green, and I played trivia for a while before going back to the room for drinks with our friends.

We hung out with Eli and Josh who we met at Gooch Gap way back when. It was fun to all just hang out and joke about who looks more like Jake Gyllenhaal, Drew or Dave. A very social and expected day!
