Day 122: July 22, 2021 (8 miles)

Trailhead Parking Lot - Father Tom Campsite

Today was a nice and easy day. Because we night hiked, we slept in and didn't get going until almost 9:30am. Truffles and Hangman had me laughing all morning while we were breaking down camp; they were doing "parkour" and throwing their poles like javelins...

Rather than going straight up and back down a mountain, we decided to road walk to Cheshire, MA to meet back up with the rest of our crew. Thankfully we only had to walk a few miles before we hit a beautiful bike trail. Truffles and I walked together and chatted on and off and listened to audiobooks.

About halfway down the rail trail we found a sweet little farmers market and stopped for a snack. I had a yummy donut and peaches. The rest of our crew showed up and we hung out for a bit before continuing on our merry way.

Pimento and Magic at the farm stand

The view along the bike trail was so nice, there was a lake and mountain views and it was lovely. We got into town around 1pm and went to the post office (new shoes after 1,100 miles!!!) and checked out the designated camping area in town. It didn't take long for us to decide we didn't want to keep hiking, and the campground was so nice we just couldn't pass it up.

"The big cheese" in town

We hung out and took our time setting up camp before taking the campsite bikes to Dollar General and on a joy ride around town.

Playing around in the DG

Once we returned to camp it was popin' and we ate dinner. Planning to turn in early and do a big day tomorrow. Woohoo!

Dinner at a picnic table in the Father Tom campsite. Truffles, Magic, Gooey, Simba, and Pimento
