Day 126: July 26, 2021 (6 miles)

Bourne Pond Stealth Site - Manchester Center, VT

Today was a short and sweet town day. I was charged with waking everyone up at 5am to watch the sunrise over the lake. It was very underwhelming and we were all sleepy...

Sunrise over the pond

We didn't get moving until 7am, but we didn't have far to go. We continued along the "primitive trail" which was still super flat, muddy, and beautiful. Truffles showed me moose prints and poop - they are among us! Once we got back on the AT it was still super flat and easy. We made it to the road around 9:30am, got a short hitch, and boom we were at Bob's Diner.

Hangman and Magic cheesin' outside of Bob's Diner

This may have been one of the best diner experiences on trail! We sat outside and had the sweetest waitress. I got some incredible stuffed French toast with real Vermont maple syrup and it was heavenly.

Once we finished, we went to the Toll Road Inn where all 7 us up tried to stay in Stick's and Slobber's room (we were found out quickly and had to get another room). Truffles and I took a quick dip in the pool before watching some of the Olympics. We all hitched into town to do laundry and resupply. Truffles, Pimento, and I walked to a really cool bookstore to kill time. Once our town chores were done we ate super fancy at McDonald's before walking/hitching back to the motel.

Truffles and I sat by the pool alone and answered "the 36 questions to make you fall in love". We sat around and talked about our feelings for a while; I like him so so so much.

We all got ready for bed, Truffles and I snuggled all night with Hangman in the bed next to us. Haha. Wish we were taking a 0...
