Toll Road Inn - Bromley Mountain Ski Hut
Today was an easy peasy low mileage day. Truffles and I woke up nice and snuggly in bed; it was the perfect way to wake up <3
Everyone dilly-dallied for a while before walking over to Bob's Diner yet again for breakfast which was super yummy. Creature and Dumb Horse were also there so it was fun to visit with them. We had a couple of hours before checkout so we fiddled around in the hotel before 11am.
Our group has a really hard time making decisions, and this morning was no different. We set out without a plan for how far we were going; quickly the boys decided to road walk to the trailhead, and Sticks and I decided to hitch. Thankfully we got picked up quickly and got to ride like queens in a truck bed. We beat the guys and decided to hike the 2 miles to the nearest shelter. We walked and talked the whole way and time passed quickly.
We cameled up at the shelter and pressed on to the summit where we waited in sun for the boys. Camping on top of a ski resort was super appealing so we called it early. There's a ski patrol hut to sleep in, and we were able to sit on the ski lift and enjoy the views.
Truffles and I hung out on the lift for a while before heading inside to make dinner. It kind of feels like we're having a slumber party in the hut. Since we got here so early we got to just veg out and chill.
Pimento is playing music on his speaker and we're all singing along and cracking jokes at each other. I am full and happy. Ready for a big day tomorrow!
