Stealth Spot - Pine Ellis Lodge
***I didn't take any pictures on this day, so these photos are from other days on my hike***
Today took a pleasantly unexpected turn for the lazy. We woke up at the most beautiful stealth spot and were very unmotivated to hike (shocking). I had AWFUL chaff and knew I couldn’t hike the proposed outrageous amount of miles. Thankfully everyone also wanted to not hike, so we decided to road walk into town to take a nice nero.
The trail provides, not 15 minutes into my walk a car pulled over to offer us a ride! The boys “didn’t feel like cheating” so I was the only one to take her up on it, but that gave me plenty of time to chill at the market/general store. I got coffee and a muffin and proceeded to call Mom, Dad, and Granny all before the boys arrived.
From there we walked over to the Pine Ellis Lodge, which basically was just an old house with a shed for a “bunk house”. It was just nice to have a cheap place to get out of the rain. We all mainly just hung out on the porch and watched the storm roll in. We walked back to the market a couple of times for lunch and dinner; it’s really more of a glorified gas station and wannabe restaurant, but it’s all Andover had to offer.
I have loved traveling through all the little no-where towns, everywhere feels like a small town and reminds me of the sweet country folks at home. The night ended with beers on the porch and Truffles throwing crab apples at a tree for fun. It’s the little things out here.
