Boots Off Hostel - Stealth Site
Despite the rain, fog, and just generally gross weather, today was a really good say! I was ready to get out of the Boots Off vortex and left around 8:30am this morning. I hiked alone around the lake and didn’t feel very excited to be on trail. Once I climbed over the dam and had the larger climbs out of the way I felt better.
I ate lunch with Dumb Horse, Creature, and Bullet at a shelter and it started raining as soon as we were leaving. Thankfully it wasn’t too cold and with my rain jacket, I felt okay. I hiked with Creature most of the afternoon and I really enjoyed talking to her. The terrain today was super chill once we were at elevation, we pretty much just cruised on the ridgeline all day. Dumb Hose waiting for us because his shins were hurting and the 3 of us hiked the last 8 or so miles together. They are probably some of the coolest people I’ve met, them together is just awesome and I loved being one on one with them.
We found a campsite on Guthooks about 4 miles from the shelter we originally were pushing for and decided to pull another 20 mile day. At camp, Erika discovered she most likely has bed bugs from their hostel before Boots Off, but it was still a great night.
