Jerry Knob Shelter - Woods Hole Hostel
What a big day! I was exhausted and slept so good despite sliding down the hill. We woke up early and tried to beat the rain, thankfully it didn't start raining until the afternoon. Erika and I hiked together all day which was really fun and a good morale boost. I got a new pack cover for the rain at Trail Days and so far it's been working great.
We weren't sure where we were heading so we just tried to crank out miles. Because of the gross weather we were toying with the idea of going into a hostel, Erika and I were pretty much sold so we just had to convince the boys. The terrane today was super flat other than two decent climbs, so we were able to cover lots of miles! We had done 10 miles before noon and 14 miles before stopping for lunch around 2pm at a shelter. Our group adopted Biscuit and the 5 of us decided to head to Woods Hole - we wanted a homecooked meal and dry beds.
Thankfully there was only 1 climb after lunch and the terrane was basically flat, so the last few miles weren't bad other than me being tired. Getting to Woods Hole felt so good, it is the absolute cutest place! The bunkhouse is an old barn and they made us the yummiest dinner I've had on trail. I am already so excited about breakfast tomorrow, so glad we decided to stay here!!!
