Lambert Meadow Campsite - Daleville, VA
Today was a short and sweet day! I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that Creature, Biscuit, and I were able to break down camp super early in the dark and hit the trail promptly by 6am. Our goal was to do 10 miles by 10am and eat at Cracker Barrel and we absolutely crushed it! There were super pretty views of the lake from the ridge we were coming down from. There were lots of rocks and we even took a break so Creature could climb some.
We made it down to town and were able to get together with Dumb Horse and Party Dave and check in to the Super 8 (which was surprisingly nice). We linked back up with DQ and Green and walked over to a diner for some breakfast.
We went back to the motel to wash clothes and shower and ended up vegging out for a while... once we got up and moving again we went to Goodwill to find some town dresses and then hit a BBQ place for some free banana pudding. We went to Kroger for resupply and took everything back to the motel.
DQ and I decided to finish an entire case of White Claws and hike out a little later than everyone else in the morning… we stayed up watching friends with Party Dave well into the evening. A very nice nero!
