Day 92: June 22, 20221 (22 miles)

Boiling Springs - Cove Mountain Shelter

What a total washout! Today was easily the wettest I've been on trail. When I woke up this morning I had every intention of doing the marathon into Duncannon. I left camp by 6am and was cruising along, not really excited about going 26 miles. I decided it would be better to stay at the shelter right outside of town and just hero in and out tomorrow for town chores. Once I decided to do 22 instead of 26 I felt much better.

The rain started as I was walking through Boiling Springs - again, I wish I could have enjoyed this town (victory tour?). The 15 miles to the next shelter were the flattest on trail yet! Lots of nice woods, pastures, and farmlands. I think I would have really enjoyed it if it hadn't been pouring rain.

Cool trail feature somewhere in PA 7/21/21

I made it to the shelter at noon (15 miles in 6 hours - woah!) and decided to take my sweet time. I took off all my wet clothes and put on my Frog Toggs which were ironically dry. I decided to cook dinner for lunch to warm up, and ended up staying there for 2 hours talking to Skully and a SoBo.

The last 7 miles were uneventful other than random minor trail magic from a guy named Ron out of the trunk of his car. 22 miles and I was at camp by 5:30pm. I had dinner with Teach and Mac 'N Cheeze. Rady to treat myself to town breaky tomorrow!

It's hard to predict the twists and turns of trail, thankful for signs like this 7/21/21
