Day 97: June 27, 2021 (15 miles)

183 Stealth Site - Port Clinton Pavillion

Today felt like an eventful day! I slept in and was fed a delicious breakfast (with coffee!) from Trail Angel Mary's crew. I dilly dallied and got on trail around 9am.

One of the kindest and most generous people I met along the trail, Trail Angel Mary was such a blessing!

The terrain was super easy and I was chugging along until I ran into Walkman. We met the day before so we decided to walk together all day and chatted. We eventually caught up to Haymitch and the 3 of us cruised most of the day together. We even walked up on a big ass rattlesnake (ahhh!)

Fat timber rattler slithering down the trail towards us

I hiked straight into town without stopping at all. Port Clinton has a hiker area by the river, it was really nice to rinse off and soak my feet. Cabela's does a hiker shuttle to their huge store, so a bunch of us hopped on that. Haymitch bought me a $100 replacement sleeping pad which was AMAZING!

The largest Cabela's in the world is just off the trail and made for a great resupply

Gooey and I treated ourselves to Dunkin' Before resupplying at Walmart and hitching back to camp. Once we arrived all our friends were here! It felt so good to be reunited with Sticks, Slobber, Truffles, Hangman, McFly, Lost and Found, and Mud Duck! We sat around and talked for hours before bed. I have so much more fun when I am hiking with a group, so I couldn't be more thrilled to hike out with them tomorrow!
